Complexity =/= good. I mean, look at Tetris. That had simple gameplay, but is still one of the best games of all time. |

| Audiosurf is for ANY music, it has an online leaderboard function, a lot more modes than Guitar Hero, making a much more diverse experience than Guitar Hero or Rock Band, which are both confined to certain styles of music. Next, Audiosurf is visually much more pleasing than Guitar Hero or Rock Band, the rock titles offer you character customization but is confined by not being completely dazzling, artistic and absolutely stunning as Audiosurf's visuals. Third, Audiosurf costs you 5-10 bucks. A game like Guitar Hero or Rock Band will immediately cost you more than 60 dollars for the game alone, and then you still need to buy the instruments for it. This just doesn't hold water against Audiosurf's FIVE DOLLARS. Fourth, Audiosurf has online interactivity through the 'radio', which plays different songs constantly, allowing you to compete with people online. The songs are everchanging, there are as much possibilities as there are songs. That's not including the different modes in the game. There are I believe 12 different modes, I don't know the exact amount. This isn't counting the radio or the Ironhide mode. If you have 1000 songs on your pc, that's about equal to 12000 different ways to play. FOR FIVE BUCKS Audiosurf just has an unlimited supply of new ways to play the game, for a much smaller price than any rock game will give you, which only features a select amount of songs. This pushes Audiosurf's demographic in an entirely new direction. Guitar Hero and Rock Band are catered to "people who like rock music and like to play video games and tend to have a lot of money", Audiosurf is catered to "people who like video games". _________________ |

You're buying a rhythm game that isn't audiosurf.
Of course I am depressed. |
audio surf? are you serious? thats not even close to being as fun as rock band/guitar hero/ DJ hero. get real |
Are YOU serious? You can play ANY song, and the gameplay is a lot more complex/challenging. Not to mention online leaderboards, and regular music releases. | that's where Frets On Fire comes in, it does all of that, but in guitar hero form _________________ *insert fancy signature with sarcastic phrase here* bridge of elden stage - 65% complete

| I played Audiosurf and found it boring. Nuff said. Also, yes it was Rock Band 1. I'm saving it to give to someone as a Christmas present. I'm a cheapskate. |

Complexity =/= good. I mean, look at Tetris. That had simple gameplay, but is still one of the best games of all time. | You set up 5 consecutive t-spin triples and then tell me it's simple. |

He obviously ment easy to pick up and play. |
All three of the games here are easy to pick up and play. Of them, I think Tetris is the most complex/difficult(infinite difficulty due to no win condition) on a short glimpse, but it's outside our scope, as we're focusing on rhythm games, meaning a limited level duration and syncing to music. On short analysis, guitar hero would make the most sense to be easiest to pick up and play, but I'm really not sure.
Audiosurf has more complex gameplay than guitar hero which is, "push right button(s) at right time" plus some star power stuff as opposed to "be in right lane at right time in order to create right formation, of right color". This is of course ignoring more complex stacking strategies, the white blocks and powerups, character's individual powers, overfilling columns, and the shoulder lanes, provided the stage has them at all. Add in a global high score chart, the ability to make a track out of ANY audio file, and regularly updated songs for everyone to try out, and you have yourself a winner. |
